I have been using myself as a bit of a guinea pig for some years now. I make sure to try to eat the very many different ways that the Crossfit community and the healthy community talk about.

I think I have come to the conclusion that I am much better at eating a restricted food list than measuring and clean eating.  short term anyway – As in 1 to 3 months.   this is of course when I’m trying to stay healthy and trim – lose those extra few pounds. 🙂

There are so many out there who excel at the Zone, Macros measuring, calorie restriction etc.. I think I’m the kind of person that if you let me eat anything ” naughty” I will want it more. I’m ok with calorie restriction, but it’s more the measuring that I struggle with.  I have found the most success ( psychologically anyway) with Keto or paleo.  I don’t really have to measure and I can eat tons of vegetables and fats. I have come to realize that I’m a Fat lover. Most people are carbs. I like carbs, don’t get me wrong, but it’s the coconut milk, cheese, yogurt, butter, almonds, avocados that I love.  I will continue to figure out what kind of eater I am.  I have found that if I have bread or a cookie. I want a truck load of those things. Not surprising or anything, but I just don’t get how the measuring gang do it.  Again, if I restrict myself and not allow myself to have these things, I’m totally ok.  the negative side for me of eating Keto is that my workouts suffer. I have very little energy during High intensity wods.  I might have to just do paleo with yams/yam noodles for some extra carbs.  the Lab rat continues to test… Cheerio Marta
