Cinco de Mayo is a celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza

You may be asking yourself…”So why is this important to me, Joe CrossFitter, as I get up this morning to attack my day?”

Well Señor or Señorita Crossfitter it is important for a number of reasons

a. Friday is Cinco de Mayo, thats only 3 sleeps away…

b.  As a vibrant CrossFit Community we take every opportunity  to celebrate significant days in world culture…

c. By recognizing, sharing, and celebrating these dates we build a stronger community. One where we get to know one another outside of the box (punny), and meet one another in a social setting.  It’s called having FUN!

So, referring back to the 3 points above…3 days notice will allow you to make arrangements to come out and have a drink and a laugh, May 5th, or Cinco de Mayo is reason enough to celebrate, and spending time with one another in a “non sweaty” relaxed environment will be fun.

Lets Say 7:30 – 8:00pm at Grizzlies. (corner of Brock and Bayly)  If you want to make a whole night of it, come to the 6:30pm WOD that day, get your sweat on, change and come out for a couple of drinks…
