What is CrossFit?

What does that mean?
CrossFitters are “Generalists” rather than “Specialists” . We incorporate Olympic Weightlifting, Power Lifting, Kettlebells, body weight, gymnastics, and endurance exercises including rowing and running. By training in multiple domains, CrossFit targets the 10 major components of physical fitness: cardio-respiratory fitness, stamina, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. Training for General Physical Preparedness (GPP) primes you for the obstacles you will face in everyday life. All workouts are measurable in some capacity, therefore the improvement in your fitness levels are visible and easily tracked.

Group Class:

After completing one of our Bootcamps or 4 Day Introductory Program, you will be eligeble to start attending our group classes.

A new “Workout of the Day” (WOD) is posted everyday and completed within a class environment. Within this class environment, a community is formed and relationships are built. A CrossFit affiliate is not your standard gym. You will rarely see somebody working out by themselves nor will you ever see a person using a machine of any sort.

Our coaches will modify each workout to suit your level of fitness.  They will ensure that your experience at CrossFit Pickering will be enjoyable and fun!
