Learning to handstand walk is a pretty intimidating concept.
Many of us are simply afraid to kick upside down, we’re happy to have both feet on the ground at all times.
The first thing I’m going to tell you is it’s OK to be a little scared, learning new skills is outside of our comfort zone.
The next thing I’m going to tell you is a little bit of tough love.
There are so many progressions to slowly get you working your way towards a new skill there’s no excuse (outside of pre-existing injury) as to why you CAN’T learn to walk on your hands!
The only hard part about it is the time and energy required to learn it.
You’re NOT going to learn it in a day… just like any complex movement, whether it be handstand pushups, muscle ups etc… these things take lots of time, practice and energy. It doesn’t matter how many videos you watch on “Secrets of handstand walking” the one and only way to learn to handstand walk is through progressions and practice.
Today we’re going to spend the first half of class working on the following progressions.
20 minute EMOM
Every minute on the minute perform:
- Max Effort Dumbbell Snatch 50/35
- Max Effort Burpees
- Max Effort Air Squat
